Born on December 28, 1981 in
Castellanza (Varese), very young, at
just 4 years old, he begins playing
the drums, getting refined with
masters such as:
Gianni
Cazzola, celebrated jazz
musician on the Italian and
international scene, Graziano Rampazzo,
session musician who collaborated
with several Italian
singer-songwriters.
In 1995, after passing an audition,
he joins the group of pupils of
Tullio De Piscopo,
a legendary drummer in Italy, and
afterwards
N.A.M.M.
School of Music, directed by
Vittorio Bianco,
attending instrument courses with De
Piscopo and percussion instruments
with Francesco
Pellizzari.
In the meantime he attends with
great interest several clinics and
Master Classes held by the best
drummers internationally renowned,
among which:
Gregg Bissonette,
Russ
Miller,
Hakira Jimbo,
Ian Paice,
Virgil Donati,
Christian Meyer,
just to mention a few...
In June 2003 he earned the degree of
strumentista esecutore (instrumentalist
performer) with top marks.
Afterwards he attended an exhaustive
instrumental specialization course
in Brescia, held by
Alfredo
Golino, an exceptional
session man, worldly renowned
(Mina,
Eros Ramazzotti,
Laura Pausini,
Renato Zero,
Samuele Bersani,
Raf etc...)
Still now, he keeps on studying the
instrument and getting refined,
driven mostly by his desire to
investigate the sound, the
expression, and the technical
freshness.
Among his experiences, there are
various studio sessions as session
musician, countless live shows in
various clubs of North Italy.
Drums teacher for the Modern
Music section of Accademia
Vivaldi in Bollate, during
the last few years he joined various
musical projects with artists from
the Italian independent scene.
Since 2000 he's the official
drummer of
NoiBassisti;
during NoiBassisti in Villa 2004 he
played for
Ares
Tavolazzi (Area, Francesco
Guccini, etc.) and
Joeri Hommerson
(internationally renowned funk
fusion bassist).
On that occasion Joeri noticed him
and was struck by "his talent and
musical maturity, amazing for his
young age", immediately confirming
him for his European band.
Forming a trio together with
Hommerson on the bass and
Daniele Gregolin (Franco
Cerri,
Stefano Cerri,
Bryan Beller,
Max
Pezzali, 883 etc...)
on the electric guitar, he took part
in
Eurobass
Day 2004 and
achieved an
unexpected success, having the
chance, the honor and the pleasure
to share the stage with some of the
best musicians in the world, such as:
Wojtek Pilichowski,
Rocco Zifarelli,
Linley Marthe,
Darryl
Jones,
Matthew
Garrison,
Dominique
Di Piazza,
Anthony
Jackson,
Mike Pope,
Jeff Berlin,
Stanley Jordan.
